Professional Memberships
Jan is a registered member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federations of Australia [PACFA] which is the peak national registration body for Counsellors and Psychotherapists. PACFA set minimum standards for training, professional development and ethical practice.
Also, Jan is a Clinical Member of The Counsellors and Psychotherapists Association of NSW [CAPA] and a member of the Ethics Committee for this Association.
Along with these Memberships, Jan is also a Clinical Member and Registered Supervisor of the Australian Association of Relationship Counsellors [AARC], a national body for marriage and relationship counselors.
Education and Experience
Jan holds a Masters Degree in Applied Science, majoring in Critical Psychology. She also has 20 years experience in providing counselling and psychotherapy to individuals and couples and 15 years experience supervising fellow professionals.
She sees people for short term counselling and long term psychotherapy addressing a broad range of concerns including:
- relationship difficulties
- depression
- stress and anxiety
- grief and loss
- trauma and childhood abuse
- work difficulties
- life stage adjustments
- loneliness
- self esteem
- family of origin issues.
Being experienced in a number of theoretical orientations allows Jan to chose, in consultation with you, the modality best suited to your particular needs.
